Abstract

In the paper the Polish cadastre way of improvement, aiming at its full computerisation including mapping part, will be presented. Some weaknesses in its day-by-day maintaining and the content of this "positive" version of European type cadastre will be presented. Some problems created by Polish attempt to join European Union will then be described as well as a new requirement for the cadastre, mainly concerning its rural part to be able to serve as an information source for the farmers applications for the so called direct subsidy and for the controlling bodies to monitor and check the correctness of the farmers' declarations and their implementations. Finally, the set of new legal and technical regulations being under preparation to meet the European needs and the pilot study performed to observe some technical and economical reactions of cadastre itself and its users on the implemented improvement, will be shown in the paper.
